The results are in and the agency received an outstanding score from the COA Accreditation Team! The reviewers were thoroughly impressed with JFCS, calling us a ‘premier’ social service agency filled with passionate staff and leaders who are committed to cutting edge programs and service delivery. They had NO formal recommendations to make. Again, I want to personally thank Meredith Cohen, Rena Essrog, Marsha Becker, Jen Weiss and the whole JFCS team for an outstanding effort. Mazel tov to all on this terrific accomplishment which continues to place our agency in the highest esteem!

Exciting happenings through the Senior Services Department abound. The department continues to offer innovative programs at many senior residential facilities. At Brightview of Greentree in particular recent highlights have included a group on Emotional Health for 40 eager residents. This program was developed in response to a sudden death of a resident and has become an opportunity for residents to process this loss and others in their lives. This month, JFCS will facilitate the final segment of the program and if management there would like us to continue, we surely will.
